End Citizens United: Steadfast Commitment to Upending Citizens United Ruling

End Citizens United is a grassroots political action committee and movement that helped in creating awareness about Rick Saccone. The Republican led the airwaves in the early days of the special elections in 18th Congressional District. Conor Lamb, a Democrat, is planning on how to use Mr. Saccone’s success against him. Conor Lamb is vying for the Congress to stand up for the Pennsylvania families who lack representation in the Washington’s ruling system. Tiffany Muller, president of End Citizens United, detailed how the group has been supporting the minorities in political races. The PAC is a national movement that connects supporters to fund groups. Lamb claimed that he does not accept finances from corporate executives for his political activities. He takes in funds that are pledged. End Citizens United is supporting Lamb and they receive money from rank-and-file staffs.

The Finance System

Mr. Lamb talked about how the finance system has affected the administration processes. Saccone received funds from campaign financed by conservative heavyweights. The 45committee began an announcement campaign that faults Conor Lamb for rejecting a tax-cut bill presented by the republican. The ad will be supplementing the $1million that the group plans on spending on advertisements touting the credentials of Mr. Saccone.

Contribution

End Citizens United revealed its efforts of raising $600,000 to support Doug Jones who is also a Democrat to finance his senate campaign in Alabama. It is not yet clear if the independent movement will achieve that amount this year in Pennsylvania. The race is likely to have more contested races across the region and the country. Adam Bozzi, the End Citizens United spokesman, stated that the races are different and their grassroots supporters are highly energized making 2018 similar to the previous years.

End Citizens United: Organizational Profile

End Citizens United (ECU) is a certified political action group in the United States. The movement works on reversing the US Supreme Court decision in 2010 in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission that eliminated limits on the expenditure group support foror against particular candidates. ECU focuses on driving huge sum of money from politics with an aim of electing campaign-finance reform champions to the Congress. It raises and contributes funds for the candidates and runs independent costs.

ECU was launched in 2015 and took part in its election cycle in 2016. It contributed over $25 million to people vying for different positions in the United States. The political committee has worked with Democratic candidates like Zephyr Teachout, Elizabeth Warren, eto O’Rourke, Hillary Clinton, Jon Ossoff, and Russ Feingold. Other senators such as Catherine Cortez Masto and Maggie Hassan also received aid from End Citizens United. The group announced that it had made over $7.5 million from donations by June 2017. It is working on raising $35 million for the 2018 midterm elections.
