Roseann Bennett Works To Make Mental Health More Accessible

Roseann Bennett is a licensed marriage and family therapist with an experienced background in assessment and therapy. For over 10 years, she has been working with individuals off all ages and all walks of life, she especially has a heart for helping those who are marginalized in the community. In 2010, Roseann co-founded the Center for Assessment and Treatment, a not for profit mental health agency in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Along with her husband, Dr. Todd Bennet, they created the 501 (c)(3) charitable organization to focus on treating and advocating for people and families regardless of their socioeconomic status.


Roseann Bennett initially worked as an in-home therapist in New Jersey, when later, she decided to take an outpatient position. She soon realized that mental health patients were waiting as long as six to nine months to receive treatment, and they did not have access to continuous care. She desired to establish an organization that provided prompt mental health services and focused on helping low-income individuals. The Bennetts also established the center hoping to change the way people feel about seeking mental health therapy. Still, some people do not seek help because of the stigma surrounding mental health. Although much awareness has been made about the importance of mental health, affordability and lack of insurance coverage is often what keeps people from seeking therapy.
